Top Secret
Everything you won't find on the usual lists
Discover Salzburg - through our eyes. La Maison is located in the heart of the old town! Hidden enough for tranquility, central enough for discoveries. Whether exhibitions, small boutiques or a café with character, we'll show you our favorite places for connoisseurs, art connoisseurs, walkers and shopping kings and queens.
Many of these artists were students of well-known teachers of their time and had already reached the pinnacle of their artistic creativity, making the exhibition truly worth it. The art exhibited here is housed in the wonderful rooms of the so-called Steinhauserhaus, a traditional townhouse more than 700 years old, located in the middle of Salzburg's old town in Sigmund-Haffner Alley.
For hip concert events, head to local cultural venues like Volksgarten or the Rockhouse. Multi-day music events, smaller pop and rock concerts, and other cultural events regularly take place there, which are not mentioned in the major travel guides. Volksgarten is also home to the Red Bull Ice Hockey Stadium, which is worth a visit: cheer on the ice hockey teams with the locals, and you'll quickly feel at home. On certain days, there's Ladies Night - with free admission for women!
Attracting talented students from all over the world, the SEAD Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance is a training center for contemporary dance and choreography. In addition to its professional training program, SEAD also serves as a year-round production and event location for contemporary dance and performance art, enriching Salzburg's cultural offerings with numerous events.
If you don't just want to watch, but want to dance yourself, you can also participate in various workshops at SEAD!
Participation is also the name of the game at Kapitelplatz, located next to the gigantic golden sphere by the artist Stephan Balkenhol, because here you will find a chessboard with oversized pieces. If you dare, you can quickly make local acquaintances as there is always an opponent to be found.
